Bundy is a gorgeous boy who is deaf. This doesn't affect his personality very much; he's a beautiful natured dog. He is great in the home, very calm and chilled, and would make a fantastic companion - he will shadow his carer's every move, although this may reduce once he understands he has found his permanent home and doesn't need to keep an eye on her! Bundy is very attuned to his humans, which is even more amazing given that he is completely deaf!
Bundy loves children both young and older although because he can't hear them, if your home has young children resident or visiting, they will need to be reminded that Bundy can't hear them so suddenly patting him, approaching from behind or disturbing him when he's sleeping is to be avoided in case they surprise him, especially when he's sleeping. Close supervision of a deaf dog with children at all times is an absolute must even with a deaf dog, even one as wonderfully gentle and sweet as Bundy.
Bundy is an active boy and loves his early morning walks each day. He also enjoys a game of fetch with a tennis ball and will give it back to you beautifully.
Bundy initially barked at the resident cat in his foster home but has quickly learnt that the cat lives there too and he's not allowed to bark or annoy it. He stops approaching or barking with the hand signal for stop. He could therefore join a home with a confident cat if you can be consistent with your instruction to him. Bundy understands that he's not allowed in certain rooms in the house. He's a clever boy and will pick up hand signals very quickly.
Bundy is a very special boy not only because he is deaf, but just because of his beautiful, soft and easygoing nature. He would love a home full of love and attention and where he is a big part of your family.
If this sounds like you and you can welcome this beautiful boy into your home, please drop us an enquiry form today; remember if enquiring from PetRescue we do need our own SAFE application form completed, see link above.
