About Jude - 18 Week Old Border Collie (Trial)
Jude is an 18-week-old, male, tri-coloured border collie puppy. Jude has been raised in a home environment. He has been very well socialised with other puppies and adult dogs (small and large) and gets along well with them all. He's met lots of people and is friendly and affectionate with them.
Jude is playful, super smart and full of puppy energy. He has mastered the doggie door and is making great progress with toilet training. Jude will sit on command, is learning to lie down and stay, and his recall is great (especially if you've got plenty of treats at hand). He has begun lead training and loves exploring the big wide world. Jude sleeps well overnight in a crate near my bed.
Jude will grow up to be a medium sized dog. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training.
It would be a big plus if you have a friendly adult dog as a teacher, companion, and playmate for Jude. If you don't have another dog to keep him company, then there needs to be someone in the household that doesn't work full time.
Jude needs to be welcome inside when people are home, and to sleep inside at least until fully grown. He will be wonderful family dog and is suitable for children 8 years and older. You will need good fencing with no small gaps. He can't go to rural fencing (e.g.: mesh or wire).
Jude has had Bilateral Femoral Head Resection surgery at Motto Farm Vet for severe hip dysplasia but he is a strong little guy and should make a full recovery. He will be ready for adoption in about a month. He is otherwise an active little pup, chasing balls and his foster sibling and especially loves a good tussle with his tug toys.
Jude’s adoption fee is S1,000 which includes his desexing when he is old enough. It also includes his first two vaccinations. He has been treated for fleas and worms and is microchipped.
Jude is in foster care in Newcastle, NSW. Since he is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to the Lower Hunter region (Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens, Maitland and Cessnock) plus Central Coast and Sydney. He’ll need to be returned to one of our approved vets for desexing when he’s 5 to 6 months old.
