About Penny
I’m Penny and I just turned 6. I’m on the look out for a very special family to see the New Year in with and live happily ever after.
Let me tell you what’s special about me. The obvious, I’m a Great Dane super model, not an ounce of fat on me and simply beautiful! There’s a couple of reasons for my figure. Firstly, I’ve got a super high metabolism. I eat puppy bickies, even high fat puppy formula loaded with calories, but I can still burn it all off. Sure, I get anxious and no doubt this contributes, but I also love a good run which is so much fun and results in me being one fit, in shape hound. I’ve had an eye lift too so have extra gorgeous eyes. The odd hay fever tablet helps if they get itchy which happen occasionally and with my ears too.
I’m not one for labels but I seem to hear ‘Velcro Dane’ a lot. What’s wrong with being a little sticky to my person? I’m not even that fussy, I’ll stick to anyone who’s happy to lavish me with love. I like to say I’m attentive to my people, always keeping a close on eye on them. I’m not fussy with what kind of human, I like ‘em big and small! Hey on another positive note, I’m good to go anywhere so unless you’re heading to a strictly ‘no dogs’ location, I’m ready and capable of being on my best behaviour to come along too.
I sometimes get called a ‘cat.’ I have very mixed feelings about this one since I HATE cats, along with bunnies, chickens, you get the idea about me and small critters. However, I believe my sleeping habits when my people are around are very cat-like. Don’t be fooled, if it’s run time o’clock, I’m a jumping bean.
Now, I do like dogs, I’ve been around many, often, and have a grand time, but I have had one intermittent bad habit I do confess. Mum keeps a close eye on me and keeps me out of trouble. I just can’t help it sometimes; I only occasionally feel the need to let another dog know that I’m queen bee. I’m not a mean girl and respond immediately when mum reminds me that standing over or attempting to push down another dog isn’t socially acceptable. It’s something I’ve worked on and it’s rarely a problem. I’m happy to have the human family to myself but there’s a chance a younger fur brother might be a good friend.
I’ve had a few changes in recent years, and I found these difficult. Change makes me anxious and affects my appetite. I’m ready for my forever property with a family to adore and have adventures with. I’m an incredibly well-trained girl, and just happen to have a few quirks to make me super special. I’d love space but if my perfect family doesn’t happen to live on property, I’m sure we can make it work with a little effort.
I hear it’s not everyone’s cup of kibble, but I have a remote collar accessory to remind me not to jump fences and help me when out and about. Funny thing is, it’s very rare mum ever presses the reminder button that I feel. It’s because with all the practise, now when I’ve got my fancy going out collar on, I automatically turn on my listening ears, rather than my painted ones. The great thing about it, is that I can go anywhere and do anything life has to offer with my fancy neck accessory! Just check out my adventure picture album which showcases my most favourite hobbies.
Please get in touch with Lisa if you like the sound of me and think you could be my perfect match!
