About Barney
Barney is a happy and energetic 2-year-old Border Collie x Koolie boy.
He is great with other dogs, and has lived in a home with a cat and small children who he was very good with.
He is house trained, excellent at his basic commands, waits for his food and loves trips in the car. He sleeps quietly overnight in his crate (although he would happily sleep on your bed if allowed!)
Being a smart boy who is VERY food motivated, Barney is a delight to train and easily picks up new commands. He loves going for long walks or runs on the lead, playing with other dogs and chasing his frisbee. He is very high energy, but as long as he gets plenty of exercise and mental stimulation he is content to curl up and snooze for most of the day near his foster human while they work from home.
His ideal home will have plenty of space for him to run around, a doggy pal with similar energy levels for him to play with and humans dedicated to giving his active body and mind plenty of stimulation.
If you are looking for a handsome, intelligent boy with lots of love to give, Barney is the dog for you!
Barney is located in VIC.
Medical notes
Barney has suspected 'Collie Nose' (Discoid Lupus Erythematosus) which flares up if he has too much sun exposure. A dog friendly sunscreen would be recommended if he was spending any length of time in the sun over the warmer months.
Adoption details
To apply to adopt a dog from Dogs4Jobs, you must firstly complete our adoptions application form in full at http://dogs4jobs.com.au/adoption-form/.
You can also write out your answers and email them to dogs@dogs4jobs.com.au
*Please note, due to the high volume of applications received, we will not respond to Petrescue chat messages, or enquiries to adopt a dog. You must complete our adoptions form to be considered for the dog or pup, and we will respond to this form via our email.
We will then request to complete a yard check, or for you to send in photos of your yard showing the fencing, space, shelter and any hazards etc, to confirm it is safe and secure, as well as adequate space for a working breed dog.
Following this, we will then put you in touch with the dog/s foster carer/s that you are interested in, to chat further over the phone, about whether the dog is a good fit for your family, and vice versa. We are searching for the perfect match for each dog and their needs. We offer interstate adoption on all of our dogs.
