About Conrad
Conrad is a young kelpie boy searching for his forever home.
Conrad loves to play with his toys and humans and do zoomies but will drop everything for a scratch under the chin or a belly rub from a trusted human. He is keen to be involved in all aspects of family life but is also comfortable chilling out on his own while his foster family is out.
Conrad hadn’t seen much of the outside world before coming into foster care. He’s becoming more and more confident, but still needs some encouragement and reassurance in new environments. Conrad sleeps happily in his crate and is working on his toilet training. He travels well in the car, and gives first class couch cuddles after burning off his energy on a long walk. Conrad is improving every day with walking on a lead, and is working on his recall. Conrad will need a family experienced with working dog breeds who can provide the consistency and boundaries he needs to grow into the best dog. Conrad has not been tested with cats however has shown interest in livestock.
Conrad has been in care with an older kelpie girl who he has enjoyed playing with and would love to have a doggie sibling in his new home. He would also be ok as an only dog if his humans are home more often than not. Conrad is best suited to a home with secure fencing and older children if any due to his need for firm and consistent boundaries. His new family will need to be aware that he can be timid around men and understand that it may take some time for him to bond with adult male family members.
This gorgeous pup has a lot to offer a family who has the time and patience to continue his socialisation and training. If he sounds like the boy for you, please send in an application today!
Conrad is located in VIC.
