About Rocky
Only available with NSW and ACT
Profile and needs in a home
Rocky is a beautifully natured 7-year-old, Jack Russell cross.
He is best walking beside another dog as this gives him the confidence
that he needs. Rocky will walk for about 15-20 minutes but is always
keen to get home once he knows he's on the home straight.
He walks well on the lead and is best walking beside another dog as this gives him the confidence that he needs. Being a Jack Russell, he is reasonably active so will need a home that can take him for a couple of walks a day.
He is great in the car so a home where he can continue to get out and about on adventures with his new family is a must.
His ideal home must include, at least, one other friendly easy going dog. He is learning to play with toys and is initiating play with his foster sibling.
Whilst he likes to know where his humans are, he is okay being left alone for short periods of time with another dog should the humans go out.
Rocky has always been an indoor dog and as with all of our dogs must have access inside and out at all times.
Rocky has quickly figured out the doggy door in his foster home and there have been no indoor accidents. Of course, his new home will be a new environment for him so must be prepared to set him up to succeed in this regard and not just expect him to know how to get outside. Advice can be given if needed
He likes relaxing on the lounge and loves to sleep on the bed as he did in his previous home. He has been laying in a ‘Snooza’ comfort bed more often lately, which seems to be comforting him in more ways than one so that may be something that his potential new owner can look into for a Christmas present for Rocky.
It will be a sad day for Sutherland when Rocky finds his furever home, but knowing he will be going to a loving household will over-ride any upset his current foster carer will experience.
We are trusting the next part of Rocky’s journey will be a smooth transition, as he will soon get attached to whoever gives him the love he has always had and the love he deserves in his forever home.
If you would like to meet Rocky please send some detail on yourself and the home you are able to provide including your dog and any other pets (if any), family members, lifestyle, exercise you will provide, how often Rocky would be alone, where he will have access in the home, where Rocky would go if you went away and could not take him with you, ability to cover vet expenses and any other information you wish to provide.

SAS will arrange a "meet and greet" with our rescue pet and we offer a two week trial period if we feel that the rescue pet and the prospective family are well matched.
Most interviews will be held in the Sutherland area of Sydney
