About Lucca
Lucca is a City in Italy!
But Lucca is also a dog that is here at BARC!.
Lucca is the proud Mumma of 5x puppies (also available for adoption) She was surrendered along with them and her husband Ty (available for adoption also). We decided to do what was right for Mumma which was to have her apart from her 3 month old pups so she could enjoy adult hood again and not have to worry about Parenting ( If only we can all do that hey HAHA).
Lucca is a sweet girl who just wants to be loved, She would be happy in a home with kids who would allow her to sit on there lap and eat popcorn while watching pepper pig!. Lucca would love to meet the kids before finding a forever home for them.
Not been around many dogs and is a little unsure about when the other dogs are trying to play with her. While she is here at BARC we have paired her with a friend who is nice and relaxed which she is happy with. So if you have another dog at home and are interested in Lucca then she would prefer it to be a more relaxed dog that will help her build her confidence up and allow her to take her time getting use to being around new dogs.
Previously lived with Cats and is happy to be in a home with dog friendly cat however it would need to be slow intro, due to them not knowing one another. It could take a few months until you can leave them alone.
Such a sweet heart who just adores her people time. She would really make an awesome family pet and be by your side no matter what.
To book a meet and greet with Lucca please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au . Due to the high volume of emails received, enquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
