About Lowie
** IN FOSTER CARE IN MARRICKVILLE**
Lowie - No. 1 sidekick.
Lowie, Lowrider, Le Sausage. If you came across Lowie on a dating app, you’d wonder why he’s still single. Not only is he exceptionally handsome (go short king!), but he has a 10/10 personality, and is so ready for commitment. An unfortunate change in circumstance for Lowie’s family has meant he is newly single, and looking for a loving home to take him in.
Lowie is a 4.5 yr old dachshund x jack russell, and can best be described as a loving sidekick. He just wants to be involved in what you’re doing, whether that is watching TV, folding the laundry, taking a stroll to the local café, or accompanying you to the office. He’s obsessed with pats and can be a little demanding at times. Don't let his short stature fool you, there is a lot of sass packed into this little guy.
Lowie was previously in a loving home and is very accustomed to standard house rules. He is toilet trained, doesn’t chew your shoes, doesn’t toss around when he sleeps on the bed (yes his foster parents are suckers and allow this) and is all round a pretty excellent dog. He does get a little frustrated if he can’t say hi to other dogs on his walks, but is extremely food motivated and likely to be very receptive to training in this regard.
MY IDEAL HOME: Lowie’s ideal home would be with a couple or a family that are home more often than not, or can take him out and about with them. Even better a home with another mellow dog of a similar age would be great to keep Lowie company.
MY ENERGY LEVEL: Lowie is well into his adult life and is quite mellow as a result. He is likely a one brisk 20-30 minute walk per day kinda guy, but would happily go for a second stroll or accompany you on your daily errands.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: Lowie is very used to being around children, so would be suitable for a family with kids aged 6+ who can respect his boundaries but also shower him with love.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: Lowie is dog friendly and wants to say hi to all dogs – he used to live with two other large dogs so knows how to hold his own! He’s not particularly playful with other dogs, so would be suitable to another mellow dog in the home to keep him company. Lowie is untested with cats.
