About Maple
Hey, so we have watched our older brothers and sisters find their forever homes – we are hoping that we will also get to find our amazing forever homes.
Like Bentley, Samson, Ginger and Scarlett, the 5 of us have also come into care from a breeder who needed - the rescues help to ensure that the vet work was completed on all of us and that the right homes were found.
So I am a 15 week old miniature dachshund.
My siblings will all be going up on the page today and tomorrow as well pssst their names are Ada, Maverick, Pixie, Snoopy and me Maple!
We have come into care and the rescue has done all the vet work for us.
We didn’t have as many exposure to socalisation before the rescue took us into care so we can be really timid meeting new people, but if you give us some time, and even an offer of a treat, we do get braver – please don’t let that put you off us – as we get more comfortable our confidence grows.
We are fine with all other dogs, we are currently with big breeds, small breeds, young breeds and older breeds. We do like to play and wrestle with each other.
My foster mum has said that as our confidence grow we follow you around, sleep on your feet while you’re cooking dinner, explore outside etc….
You will need to spend a bit of time when I go to my new home letting me gain confidence but I promise you I am worth it!!!
I could go to a home by myself or with another dog. I am not tested on cats but my foster mum says I would definitely respect them as they would be bigger than me!
I love being able to have access to inside and outside and love being able to go out into the garden thru the day and have a good run around I am good with other dogs however I would not do well being locked outside 8+ hours a day, I definitely need to be part of a family. If you worked from home I am more than happy to have a dog bed in your office and just keep you company while you mutter about your work colleagues.
If you don’t work as I gain my confidence I would happily help you in the garden or after a good play with my fur sibling snuggle next to you while you read a book.
I am around a 10 year old boy and I am pretty comfy with him – I do like when he watches TV on the bean bag type of thing.
Just need to make sure I go to a home with kids who understand they can't carry me as I have a long spine and don't want to be dropped or hurt.
I am working on my house training and my foster mum says we are about 92% there

Complete the following adoption enquiry link

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $100) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
