Meet Poppy, the sweetest companion youâll ever meet! Poppy is not just any dog, Sheâs a bundle of love waiting to find her forever home.
Poppy is a loving and loyal girl, She has basic commands like sit and wait and is fully toilet trained. Making her an ideal addition to your family.
She thrives on human companionship and adores being by your side, which means she makes a great cuddle buddy on lazy afternoons and a loyal friend during your outdoor adventures.
By opening your heart and home to Poppy, youâre not just adopting a dog, youâre gaining a devoted and loving friend who will bring endless joy to your life.
Poppy has enjoyed having other doggyâs for company while being in foster care, but is still working on her play skills, She gets a bit confused when the young dogs start doing zoomies at happy hour, and will bark at them, as a way to show her excitement. Poppy is not a dominant girl, but she is not submissive either.
Poppy loves children! When the children get home from school, Poppy is immediately following them around and will always be found sitting by their side waiting patiently for them to give her some love.
Poppyâs other love is water! When it comes to water, Poppy is a very typical golden retriever. Poppy is her happiest when she gets to lay in a puddle or have a swim in a dam.
Poppy is working on her manners on a lead , she gets a bit excited when itâs time to go for a walk and will pull, but she is getting better. She does enjoy her bush walks.
The only other thing Poppy has been working on during her time in care is that she loves to have a chat. Poppy does bark when she is excited/happy, when she wants your attention, or when she is pretty sure you forgot her dinner. This is a learnt behaviour and will take time and a consistent approach to improve this behaviour. Poppy has already shown great improvements but will require an owner who can be consistent with her training.
Poppyâs ideal home would include, either an individual / couple looking for a companion to love and have adventures with or a family wanting to add a special addition to their home that is already house trained and has all the basic commands. Children should be over the age of 8 due to Poppyâs large size, and experienced dog owners are preferred. Poppy would enjoy the company of another dog, but this is not necessary for Poppy as she has come from a single dog family. The top priority for our sweet Poppy girl is finding her a home that will allow her to be an inside dog and a full member of the family. Poppy has been an outdoor dog most of her life, but during her time in care, she has shown how much she desperately wants to be included in all aspects of family life. Golden retrievers want nothing more than to please and protect their people, and Poppy shows all these qualities.
