Willa is a little pocket rocket ready to bring boundless joy and energy into your life. If you're up for the challenge of fulfilling her mental and physical stimulation needs, she'll reward you with a lifetime of love, loyalty, and entertaining antics. Are you ready to make Willa a cherished member of your family?
About: Whether you're a first-time dog owner or an experienced canine enthusiast, Willa is ready to become your loyal companion.
Ideal Home: Her vibrant personality makes her a perfect fit for homes that are both busy and loud or calm and quiet. She's adaptable and ready to embrace the unique rhythm of your household.
She’d love having free access to both indoors and outdoors, revelling in the best of both worlds. A medium to large yard with high, secure fencing would be a dream for this confident and outgoing pup.
Family: Willa is an active and outdoorsy pup, making her an ideal match for individuals or families who enjoy an adventurous lifestyle.
She's open to meeting kids ages 8 and up, reason for this is due to her jumping – it's like having your very own jack-in-the-box! This spirited behaviour is simply a manifestation of her boundless enthusiasm, especially when meeting new friends or seeking attention.
Furry Friends: Her Dog to Dog Assessment is pending.
As for living with other pets, the decision is yours to make. Willa's compatibility with cats and pocket pets is uncertain, so it's up to the new owner's discretion.
Work: Willa's fondness for treats is a great incentive for training, though she's still mastering the art of taking them gently in her excitement.
This smart cookie loves to learn and picks up commands quickly. With consistency, she can easily go beyond basic commands, impressing you with her agility and intelligence. She currently knows sit, lay down, crawl, and roll over, showcasing her quick learning abilities.
Post-adoption training, whether at home or in group classes, would be a great investment in channelling her intelligence and enthusiasm positively.
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long & is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Play: Her love for toys knows no bounds – from tennis balls for a good game of fetch to soft, stuffed toys for some satisfying destruction.
Willa has high energy needs. Daily walks or exercise of at least 60 minutes will keep her physically & mentally healthy and ensure she burns off that excess energy.
Post-Adoption Life: With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as seamless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories - most are left in the shelter by their owners. The information we have is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks may surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
Adoption details
Please remember that the pets we have available sometimes come to us with no history, so we do our very best to get to know them while they are here and to match them to your home. Sometimes animals behave differently outside of the shelter environment, so please do keep in touch after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
