Hello there! I'm Kinkajou, a delightful young pup with a unique mix of staffy, heeler and dalmatian. While my early months were a bit uncertain, I've been fortunate to experience loving foster families who have helped me come out of my shell. Now, I'm ready to find my forever home!
I must admit, meeting new people can still make me a little nervous, but with time, patience, and plenty of love, I'm sure I'll become more confident. My foster families have seen me make great progress and I'm sure I'll continue to grow with the right guidance. I rarely bark and I'm more likely to hide or run to my person when scared than react negatively.
I can be a bit jumpy and mouthy at times, but that's just my way of showing my excitement and eagerness to play. With consistent training and positive reinforcement, I'm sure I'll learn to channel my energy in a more appropriate way. My previous foster family had 2 primary aged kids and they were great but I don’t think I could handle meeting lots of new children, so I’m looking for a quiet home where everyone respects my personal space.
One thing I absolutely adore is food! Treats are my weakness and I'm always up for learning new tricks or commands if there's a tasty reward involved. I have been crate trained in the past so retraining me should be quite easy.
I have only recently been separated from my brother and I miss him alot. I will need someone close by while I continue to adjust to life without him. I have mastered the art of being toilet trained and using a doggy door, so you won't have to worry about any accidents in the house.
I am relaxed walking by dogs when I’m out and about and I enjoyed hanging out with my brother but I’m not sure how to play politely with other dogs just yet. I need my new family to be happy to help me learn these skills and be the best pup I can be.
I'm a loyal companion who loves to be by your side, following you around like your very own shadow. Exploring the backyard is one of my favourite pastimes and I love to snooze in the sun. I will need a fun and stimulating environment involving plenty of toys and play time, with people home a lot to keep me out of my typical puppy mischief.
If you're looking for a pup who will thrive with a patient and loving family, I might just be the one for you. Together, we can continue my journey of growth and create a bond that will last a lifetime. So, what do you say? Shall we embark on this exciting adventure together?
Has lived with primary aged children but would recommend a household with children 12 or older due to his fear of new people, his need for personal space and rough play at times.
