About Tipsy
Tipsy is (sort of) ready for meets and greets.
This precious little girl has won everyone’s heart with her trash to treasure story.
Found abandoned at a remote rubbish tip, this 5-month-old staghound x is really starting to find her happy heart.
But make no mistake – she still has a long way to go before she will truly be totally carefree.
Anyone who knows anything about the staghound breed will know how sensitive they can be.
Incredibly forgiving a breed as they are – forgetting does not come easily – and it takes a very special person to walk them through the many months it takes to heal.
So, when we say she is sort of ready – we do mean it.
Medically she is well – sure she still has a kilo or two to gain but that’s no big deal.
In care she is bouncy, loving, goofy, playful and the biggest cuddler in town.
She doesn’t chew, doesn’t bark unnecessarily and is no trouble left alone at home as long as she has lots of toys.
She is gentle, well behaved, loves other dogs – Tipsy is just a delight to be around.
In her bubble she is doing so well, and we just know that in the right forever home she is going to absolutely thrive.
But her forever person needs to know that:
1. Outside her bubble (read as front gate) she is a trembling mess
2. She pees a little if you raise your voice even slightly.
3. If you put her in a car, her fear will result pee, poop and excessive drool.
4. Dark nights outside are scary places – she will not go out alone so night-time pees are still happening inside.
5. She is just a little poppet at the moment but will likely grow into a larger sized adult.
So, who is her forever person?
You are obviously calm, patient and loving.
You have a home that is not too hectic.
You have another calm and friendly dog to help her find her brave.
You are not going to stress over little pees here and there.
You know this will take time and you are ready for that.
You are ready to take it slowly as she learns to be comfortable in her new bubble.
You are ready to put in the work needed to make her brave outside her bubble when the time is right.
Oh – and you are okay if she digs a little hole here and there – that’s her one naughty trait 😊
If you are still here and reading – well it could be you.
Now you just need to convince foster momma.
If you would like to meet Tipsy, please take the time to send us a detailed message telling us all about yourself and the life Tipsy would share with you.
We will only arrange meets with the best matches to keep her stress to a minimum.
Please understand that we need to go slow here – an application does not guarantee a meet and a meet does not guarantee adoption.
Tipsy is in charge here.
The other important stuff
Tipsy is vaccinated, microchipped and up to date with her flea and worm treatments.
Her desex is booked for a months’ time and is included in her adoption fee – this is not negotiable and may take place after adoption.
If you do not agree to desex at 6 months, please do not apply.
She is located in Strathpine (North Brisbane) and she is not available for Interstate Adoption
Her adoption fee is $750.

At The Mini Rescue, we strive to make the adoption process as seamless as possible. We understand that bringing a new pet into your home is a big decision that will enrich your life in countless ways. That’s why we’ve developed a clear, step-by-step guide to help you find your perfect match and provide a loving home for one of our precious animals. Our dedicated team is here to support you every step of the way, from your initial interest to the joyful day you bring your new friend home.
How to Adopt: A Step-By-Step Guide:
1. Browse Our Selection: Visit our Animals page and use the menu to view the various pets we have available. Choose between cats and dogs to narrow your search.
2. Expression of Interest: Found a pet that captures your heart? Reach out to us for an Expression of Interest (EOI) form to initiate the process.
3. Patience is a Virtue: We meticulously review every EOI to ensure each animal goes to the right home. Thank you for your patience during this critical stage.
4. Meet Your Potential Pet: If your EOI is approved, we'll organise a Meet & Greet session. It’s a great opportunity for both you and the animal to see if it’s a perfect match.
5. Adoption Application & Home Review: If you're ready to move forward, you'll need to complete our adoption application and agree to a home review.
6. Review & Approval: Your application and home review will be assessed to guarantee a secure, loving environment for your potential pet.
7. Adoption Fee: Upon approval, you'll be required to pay the non-negotiable adoption fee. This fee directly supports our animal care efforts.
8. Welcome Home: Once the fee is processed, we'll coordinate the special day when you can bring your new pet home.
