About Frankie STA011289
Frankie, is a beautiful girl who's incredibly shy and timid in new environments, much preferring the quiet and peaceful ambience of a settled home. Her beauty lies not only in her magnificent looks but also in her gentle, contemplative nature.
Having spent some precious time in foster care, her likes and dislikes have been discovered, and her tender personality has been nurtured.
Frankie would find comfort and companionship with someone who works from home. A home office setup, with a cosy little nook for Frankie to curl up in, would be her dream. As she's most comfortable in predictable situations, a household with a healthy routine would be most suited for her. Not a fan of loud noises, Frankie would prefer a house with no young children or other animals.
Despite her initial reticence, under the right circumstances and with a little patience, Frankie is ready to blossom into a loving companion who will charm you with her gentle spirit every day. Though she prefers calm and peace, her presence would sure add love and warmth to your family. She is ready to fill a quiet, gentle home with her subtle, endearing charm.
From her Foster Home
Do give Frankie lots of time to get to know you. She will be the one to approach you and she will go to you for rubs and pats. Give her some safe hiding places in her room to begin with. Win her over with some treats. She is not fussy on which treats we give her. She prefers her dry food to her wet food.
Frankie seems to prefer the ladies in the house over the only man. She took a longer time to warm up to my husband. We continued talking to her in a calm voice to get her comfortable with us. After many weeks, she hangs out at the dining and living area with us.
Frankie will make a great work companion. We placed her in a room where there is a work desk. She feels relaxed when she can venture out on her own and approach whoever is working at the desk. She likes to come around to the person at the desk and get some rubs. That is how she warms up to us gradually over time. Frankie is a little scared with sudden loud noises like the dryer. We need to assure her that it is ok.
Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
We will answer any questions you have regarding cat care and help you to obtain any support you may need.
