About Maxi
Maxi thinks he's a puppy and with limited life experience still acts like one.
He has learnt so much in the short time in foster care and now:
Is house trained, but he may still have the odd accident when settling in a new home.
Is crate trained, sleeping all night in it with the door open but never barks or cries.
Travels well in the car and loves outings.
Loves daily short to medium walks in a harness as he still needs to have more training on not pulling but is getting better each time. Happy to greet other dogs but can get a bit excited but easily distracted.
Learning to play with his toys, loves rope toys best, not keen on rubber balls or squeeky ones. Likes a gentle game of tug of war.
Can be left alone for short periods but not all day.
He wants to be the centre of attention, but will sit ( well he actually drops) and knows when told to go to his bed. Not overly fond of treats but responds well to praise.
Maxi is best suited to a home with children over 7 as he still jumps a little when over excited. He loves a game of chasey.
Another similar size dog would be best, so he learns more about life and less likely to get over excited and nip.
Access to outdoors to continue his house training.
Not suited to cats.
A home where understanding Maxi can be bousterous when he feels ignored and will steal socks and shoes just to get your attention. Not distructive , he just wants to be where you are and feel safe and loved.
Maxi is desexed, microchipped and fully vaccinated
Meet Maxi, an enthusiastic and lovable canine companion with a heart of gold. Maxi doesn't let his size fool anyone - he wholeheartedly believes he's still a puppy and loves to act like it too. He's been learning the ropes and has made substantial strides in understanding house etiquettes in his short time with us in foster care.
Maxi is now house trained, although he may still have some mishaps when settling into new surroundings. He is crate trained and enjoys nightly slumbers in his crate, keeping quiet and content. Maxi also loves car rides, looking forward to outings with his favorite human pals.
Physical activity is essential for Maxi's growth, and he appreciates daily short-to-medium walks. He's friendly towards other dogs and enjoys greeting them, showcasing his social side. Maxi still needs some leash training as he can get overly excited, but he is improving each day.
Becoming more adventurous, Maxi is learning to play with his toys and has shown a preference for rope toys. He also enjoys a gentle game of tug of war. Maxi thrives on attention and responds well to praises and commands.
Considering his exuberant personality, Maxi would be best suited in a home with children over 7 and another dog of similar size to keep him engaged and offer a playmate. While Maxi needs to be taught not to jump when overly excited, he loves a traditional game of chase, adding a fun dynamic to any family.
Families who are prepared for Maxi's antics when he feels left out—like sock and shoe theft, would enjoy his playful nature. He just wants to feel loved and safe, and these are his cute ways of showing it.
Note: Maxi is not suitable for homes with cats due to his excitable nature. He loves the outdoors and we recommend maintaining a backyard for him to explore. Maxi is neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated, looking forward to meeting his new family.
Medical notes
Maxi is a healthy pup.
