About Harlem
Introducing Harlem!
Harlem is a Staffy x born 22.11.22.
Harlem was brought in to us as a stray during our quarantine lockdown and unfortunately no one came looking for her. Harlem was so timid when she first arrived that she had to be carried into the facility by staff. She was very shut down and spent most of her time cowering at the back of her kennel. Since being with us she has started to gain some confidence and she loves her human companions.. and vegemite sandwiches.. and peanut butter sandwiches.. and treats..
Harlem is now in foster care with the loving & patient Pete and she is coming leaps and bounds since being in a home environment.
Where she used to army crawl, she is now enjoying walks in the park.
Where she was scared to go out into the yard, she now takes herself out to the toilet via the doggy door.
She is still unsure of being inside, but has found her "safe place" on the lounge where she enjoys having scratches and listening to the world go by outside.
Harlem has tested well with other dogs. She has met multiple dogs on her trips to Bunnings & she has been very polite and friendly with them.
Harlem has not been tested with cats or pocket pets at this time.
Both at the facility & in foster care, she has shown no signs of separation anxiety.
She still has so much to learn about the world and life and would love to be in a home where she is included as a member of the family. Harlem will thrive in an environment that guides her with positive direction and lots of love and patience.
Harlem's adoption fee is $450 and includes her desexing and lifetime registration.
Harlem is also regularly treated for flea and worms and is up to date with her vaccinations.

Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
