About Chucky
Chucky is a gentle giant. Affectionate, soft natured and a little timid, he is the perfect gentleman! He has come out of his shell in foster care and he is ready to find his perfect forever home.
Chucky loves an adventure! He is all in for a stroll in the bush, the beach or along the river, followed by snuggling up under a blanket on the couch with his foster Mum, happily snoozing away. He easily copes with separations during the work day, often found still relaxing in the same spot when his human returns.
Thinking he is a lap dog, Chuck will reverse up to you for a butt scratch and plant himself on you for a hug, especially if you have treats in your pocket!
Chucky is such a big boy, and his ideal home would be with someone experienced in handling large breeds, and someone that can continue to teach him everything he needs to know.
Chucky would prefer an only pet home so that he can be the centre of attention and keep working on making friends at his own pace - other animals make him a little nervous.
He is excellent at the vet, he loves to hear how handsome he is and is happy to be handled, poked and prodded. He doesn’t jump or barge, and is very polite and easy going at home, he is the ultimate sweetheart! He loves the car and travels easily, feeling the wind in his jowls!

PLEASE NOTE: our adoption form is set up for greyhounds, as usually that's the only breed we have. Please answer the questions as they relate to Chucky, and we can discuss further!

STEP 1 – ENQUIRE & EOI FORM:

If the greyhound you have applied for is unavailable or unsuitable, we can match you with a more suitable greyhound. We may have a hound in foster care who might be well suited to your family.
STEP 2 – LET'S CHAT:
We'll phone you to discuss suitability, clarify any points of your application and chat process and next steps.
STEP 3 – HOUSE CHECK & MEET + GREET:
We'll come to you! The meet + greet is conducted at the same time that a house check is carried out. The meet + greet is the day that your newly adopted greyhound will be able to stay on with you.
Our adoption fee must be paid on the day of the meet + greet, and prior to starting your 3 week trial. Support from our team is freely available. If you have any issues, we urge you to contact us to try and work through them, as all rescue greyhounds have some period of adjustment.
If after the 3 week trial, you feel that you need to return the greyhound, we will refund your adoption fee (less a $50 administration fee), upon return of the dog and all paperwork and other items that the dog was adopted with.
All of our hounds are adopted out with the following:
> Certificate of sterilisation & vaccination
> Flea & worm treated
> Care information for your newly adopted greyhound
> Access to our private Facebook page for foster carers, volunteers and adopters of our hounds. A community with invaluable advice and support.
