Shay is an open-hearted cat who loves meeting kids of all ages. Her easy-going nature makes her an ideal addition to families, couples or singles, whether your home is filled with laughter, chatter, or peaceful silence. With a comfortable and confident demeanour, Shay is adaptable to various environments.
While Shay seems to get along with other cats, a gradual introduction is always recommended for a harmonious integration into a multi-cat household. Although we can't confirm her compatibility with dogs, Shay's agreeable and laid-back personality suggests that she could potentially make friends with a canine companion but it would be up to the discretion of her new owners...
This low-maintenance feline friend has low energy needs, making her the perfect companion for those who prefer a more relaxed pace. Shay isn't a fan of toys, but she adores human interaction and affection. She's the type of cat who would rather be curled up next to you, purring contentedly as you shower her with attention.
When it comes to mealtime, Shay isn't fussy, but a gradual transition to new food is essential to avoid upsetting her tummy. She's a loyal user of her litter tray, making her a tidy and considerate housemate. Shay is fine with being picked up and cuddled, enjoying being touched and patted all over her body. Her purring and "making biscuits" are her ways of expressing gratitude for your love and attention.
Although Shay isn't the most vocal of cats, she might let out a gentle meow when she senses that dinner is on the way. It's worth noting that she had cat flu in the past, so be sure to discuss this with our staff at the time of adoption for any additional guidance.

Please remember that the pets we have available sometimes come to us with no history, so we do our very best to get to know them while they are here and to match them to your home. Sometimes animals behave differently outside of the shelter environment, so please do keep in touch after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
How much does it cost to adopt?
The adoption fee for dogs covers C3 vaccination, health check, heartworm testing, desexing, micro-chipping, and registration.
The adoption fee for cats covers F3 vaccination, health check, desexing, micro-chipping, and registration.
