If you're ready for a loyal friend and a four-legged adventurer, then Milo is the one for you.
About Me: Milo is a versatile pup, perfectly suited for any household, whether it's bustling and lively or calm and quiet. His confident nature and outgoing personality make him a great match for experienced dog owners who are ready to share their hearts and homes with this furry ball of sunshine.
Ideal Home: Milo dreams of a home with both indoor and outdoor access, a medium to large yard, and high secure fencing to ensure he can play safely. This boy loves his freedom and wants the best of both worlds!
Family: While Milo loves to be the centre of attention, he would do best in a home with kids aged 5 yrs & up. Due to his strength and size, he might be a bit too enthusiastic for smaller kids, but with older kids who have experience with larger dogs Milo is sure to become their new best friend.
Whether you're a part-time worker or a work-from-home wizard, Milo is adaptable to your schedule. He might feel a bit uneasy when left alone initially, but with a bit of self-soothing and calming, he's learning to embrace his own company.
Furry Friends: Milo's recent dog assessment saw a very positive change. Before when the sight of another dog would make him stress & back away, he now displays playful, respectful & social behaviour - his body was loose, he wanted to engage & and play but he wasn't too full on which is a nice pace for him. He's happy to interact & acknowledge the other dog playfully without the need to be close & play.
Milo is not suitable to meet or live with cats or pocket pets because he has high prey drive.
Training & Development: Milo is a foodie at heart, especially fond of devon treats, but he won't turn down any tasty morsels offered to him. His love for treats makes training a breeze, and he's already mastered the art of “sit” and “shake”.
A little extra training at home will help him become the perfect pooch. He's working on his manners and learning not to jump up when it's playtime – a little more training will make him the perfect gentleman.
He would benefit from post-adoption training such as training at home or with a professional regarding his knack to explore beyond his yard walls.
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long & is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Play: Milo is your ideal adventure companion. Whether you're into brisk walks, hikes, or just a game of fetch in the yard, Milo's energy levels make him the perfect partner for your active lifestyle.
He would benefit from daily exercise or walks ranging from 20 to 60 minutes, so get ready to explore the world together!
Soft toys are his weakness, and he loves a good play session. Milo is a cuddle aficionado, revelling in human attention, pats, and scratches.
Post-Adoption Life: With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as seamless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories - most are left in the shelter by their owners. The information we have is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks may surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
