About Cookie STA011478
Cookie is a fun and playful girl who would love to share her new home with a friendly feline who likes to play. She’s very smart and food motivated. Cookie enjoys food puzzles and foraging games, she is also responding very well to target training. Cookie could play with her feather wand toy for hours.
She sometimes gently nibbles and grabs your hand so an adult household would be most appropriate. She was initially very timid and fearful in her new environment so will need a small safe room and a gradual introduction to the rest of the home. It will likely take her several weeks to feel comfortable in her new home. Cookie gains confidence in the company of other cats so a feline companion is a MUST.
Cookie is still working on becoming comfortable with touch, but accepts pats while eating her favourite treats (She LOVES Dine creamy treats). Her perfect home will have experience with timid cats and enjoy providing enrichment and training games to bond and build her confidence further.
Cookie would love a quiet, routine household that will allow her plenty of time to settle and interact at her pace. Treats and playtime will be the way to her heart.
If you would like more information about Cookie or wish to meet her please contact our Foster Care Co-Ordinator’s -Email foster@catprotection.com.au or Phone 0400 444 734.
Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
We will answer any questions you have regarding cat care and help you to obtain any support you may need.
