Toby (short for Toblerone) is the definition of a giant lap dog: full of love and admiration for you, and always up for a cuddle. A beautiful brindle boy with hazel eyes, Toby has a soulful stare and a goofy heart

He’s a big boy (think Bull Arab, large Labrador) and just two years old – Toby’s still got puppy vibes, but is toilet trained, great with other dogs and people, food motivated, and is the proud owner of four skills: sitting, shaking, down and rolling over. He’s working on a dance, too. What a good boy!

Toby came to his foster carer very underweight and in need of some TLC (like lots of pats, and some probiotics, for his belly, peeee-ew!) but is now ready to find his people and love them forever.

While in foster care Toby’s been working the crowd at the local dog park on a long lead.
He’s very interested in other dogs but is able to adjust his play to account for the other dogs’ sizes and temperaments. With people Toby is a dream: although his foster carer was told Toby is wary of men, this doesn’t seem to be the case and when he’s approached politely he’s gentle, friendly and happily accepts pats and snacks from all.

At home he’s happy to nap on his bed while you work from home, or to observe you while you garden. Not a barker, except at the door, and quiets down. Toby has enjoyed playing with his foster brother and prefers not to be left on his own for long stretches of time. Toby likes the company of other dogs and will need a buddy to keep him company and give him a little more confidence, so you should have another medium or large dog who is up for a bit of a play. In his former home he lived with four kids and was a good boy by all reports. Toby’s still a bit strong on lead when he first heads out for a walk but soon settles after a bit of a play, but he’s quite strong and will need an adult to walk him.

Toby is one of the loveliest dogs that his foster carer has ever looked after! Such a sweetheart and so much fun. You will be a lucky household to call him your own.
