About Nala
Hi I’m Nala, I was surrendered with my mate Jack due to our owner having to take on more responsibilities at work, this sadly meant no one was home regularly enough to look after and care for us properly.
I will do best with an experienced owner or one who’s invested in taking the time I need to settle into a routine and be home with me quite regularly. My breed is known to be very loyal, often bonding closely to one person and becoming lonely if not given enough attention. Due to this I am not suitable for a home where I am left for long periods of time during the day.
I am a sweet girl who can be a little bit hesitant about new people, once I’m settled I will happily sit up in your lap and just enjoy the moment. I don’t do well with loud noises or busy spaces I find these things far to overwhelming and become reserved if I’m not comfortable in my surroundings.
I am not suited to being around children who are overbearing or don’t understand I will at times need space and don’t like to be chased. Ones who are patient and take the time to read my body language are much preferred. I spend time with 4 older children regularly who I’m very comfortable with and show no reservations about.
I am good with other dogs and would need one with similar traits to me, I wouldn’t suit a home with a large dominant dog as I’m quite afraid of them. I will need a slow introduction to any new dogs in the home.
I have not been introduced to cats at this point, but may do okay with one who doesn’t show much interest in me. I am not suitable around birds or Pocket pets.
I LOVEEEEE Greenies and Dentastix they are the absolute best and you can easily persuade me to do just about anything with one of them.
I am crate trained and sleep peacefully in my crate of a night time with no problems. I am struggling with my toilet training, this may be due to being in new surroundings as I previously had no issues in my old home.
