About Juno (61445)
Hi, I'm Juno.
I might be a young dog, but I've had a pretty traumatic life until now. I can't quite explain what I've been through, but the emotional scars are visible. I'm hoping I can find a patient and understanding owner who will help me work through my issues so I can learn to be a happy, well-adjusted dog.
I'm a border collie and when I'm feeling good, you'll see that personality shine through. I love a good zoomie in the backyard, and I don't mind the odd game of fetch. I'll collect things that you throw but I won't bring them back to you, I much prefer storing them in a safe place.
I'm very well behaved in the house; I'm toilet trained and will use a puppy pad if left indoors. I sleep all night inside in a covered crate with the door open and you won't hear a peep out of me. I love being outside too and enjoy sitting on the grass in the shade. I don't bark and I don't mind being left on my own, I'll wait patiently until you return.
Sudden, loud noises scare me, and will make me run for safety, usually to a corner of the room or yard so I'll need a secure backyard with good fencing. I especially love hiding in the bushes but will jump into the daisies just for fun! I'm a keen gardener!
I'm learning to walk properly on a lead but can be quite unsure and sit still or try to pull off the lead if I don't want to go somewhere. My foster mum has to carry me short distances at times but the more confident I get, the less she has to do that. I'm great in the car, I'll jump straight in, but don't ask me to jump out!
Other dogs scare me, and I won't approach them willingly. I'm ok sometimes when they're around but I did take a dislike to my foster brother. He wasn't doing anything wrong, but I did give him a scare or two, so I'd be best suited to an only dog home.
I'm wary of the cat in my foster home but he doesn't bother me so much and I've met some chickens, and they seemed ok too. I don't think I'd be good around small children but respectful teenagers who understand how to approach me and give me space would be ok.
There's probably lots of things I still need to see and do but you'll also need to be patient and spend lots of time with me so I can learn how to trust. Until then I will need to be introduced to everything slowly, so please don't expect me to be a confident, happy dog straight away.
I know I have the potential to bond with a special someone and will have a lot of love to give to the right person.
Could that be you?
