About Martin
Martin our American Staffordshire Terrier is ready to find a loving home.
Martin is a smart boy and learning quickly. His date of birth is 8 June 2023.
Martin mastered the doggy door in his first foster care plcement and was well on his way to being toilet trained.
Martin has been in a couple of foster placements. First was with a family with children. Martin prefered the company of the older primary school aged children. The younger children were a bit scary - they moved quicker and a bit noisy. He was in care with tiny dogs and he wanted to play with them. He was a bit rough - thinks he is the same size as them not 3 times the size 😅. Martin was good with the confident cat and allows it to smooch around him. The more timid cat he would chase when it run - just needs some more training to curb that fun game.
The second foster placement was with an older gentleman with two retired racing greyhounds.
Martin did well in this placement but did show a bit of a destructive side as a puppy. In this placement he did have a couple of toilet accidents - no doggy door to come and go.
Martin likes people around a fair bit. He would suit a home with.another dog of similar size or bigger for company. He definately needs to be an inside /outside dog. He would not cope just being a total outdoor dog.
Martin has been flea and worm treated, vaccinated, desexed and microchipped. His adoption fee is $700.

Adoption details
We like to take the personal approach where a person sends an email of interest around an animal and then we will follow up with phone discussions and email exploration through a survey.
Please note we are a small group of volunteers that balances the administrative side with the care of the animals.
Please only apply for one of our animals if you are genuinely interested in them.
We expect the prospective owner to travel to meet the animal and we are open to trial periods to ensure we have the match right.
