On Hold
About Gomez - Located in Braybrook
Hola, amigos! I'm Gomez, the love connoisseur with a side of catnip charm. Picture this: big smoochy boy with cheeks that scream "tom cat chic." Yeah, that's me, the feline version of Gomez Addams, spreading love and laughter wherever I go.
I'm not just a people person—I'm an everyone person. Cats? Cool. Dogs? No problemo. I'm the social butterfly of the feline world, ready to blend into any home with the grace of a cat on a mission, I am FIV+ but that doesn't affect me or my life. Confident? You betcha. I strut my stuff with the elegance of a salsa dancer, and my moves are sure to steal your heart.
Let's talk playtime. I'm not one to discriminate when it comes to entertainment. Whether it's a cat wand, a red dot, or a humble hairtie, I'm game. I'll chase, pounce, and twirl like a cat on a mission. And hey, if you're cooking, count me in as your furry sous chef. I've got a talent for catching anything that falls on the floor, saving you from the dreaded cleanup.
But let's get real—I live for the snugs. Save me a spot on the couch or in the bed, and I'm one happy hombre. I'm not just looking for a forever home; I'm on the lookout for my Morticia, someone to share the love and laughter with.
So, if you're in the market for a confident, charismatic, and oh-so-lovable feline companion, look no further. I'm Gomez, ready to add a touch of humor and a whole lot of love to your life. Let's make this love story official, shall we?

Medical notes
FIV+ cats live a normal life for many years though we cannot predict the life span of
these cats. FIV positive cats sometimes have a scruffy coat and the condition can
lead to chronic recurrent infections in the mouth, eye and skin. FIV cannot infect
people, however it can infect other cats through bite wounds commonly from fights.
FIV positive cats can co-exist with other cats that don't have FIV without issues.
We encourage that the cat is either an indoor cat or a confined cat - eg access to a
cat run outdoors. We recommend regular vet visits (6 monthly) to monitor weight,
coat changes, mouth etc.

WORLDWIDE CAT VACCINE SHORTAGE
There is currently a worldwide shortage of cat vaccines and supplies are unlikely to be replenished until early 2024. This is due to complicated supply problems post-COVID. Our vets have limited, and in some cases no supplies available, but are prioritising kittens and previously unvaccinated Cats wherever possible.
Kittens are at the highest risk as their level of protection is very low after the initial protection provided by the mother’s antibodies. While protection will wane a little over time, a delay up to three months is unlikely to result in a significant reduction in levels of protection. It is anticipated that clinics should have regular supplies early in the new year to bring your cat back up to date.
First Vaccination completed
We will try to provide at least 1 vaccination, depending on our supplies of vaccines available, however boosters may become overdue. In this case it is your responsibility to contact your vet as soon as supplies become available. We will not be re-imbursing any of this costs.
We require all cats and kittens to be indoors only and not allowed outside. This is especially important now as there is a risk of coming into contact with unknown cats who may not be vaccinated.
No Vaccination completed
Where we are unable to provide any vaccination during their time in care with us, please contact us on 0459779888 or via email to samantha@neko.org.au, and we will arrange for one vaccination to be done at one of our partnering clinics as soon as supplies are available. Boosters after this will be your responsibility.
Please note that should you choose to utilise your own clinic, we will not be re-imbursing any costs. This is your responsibility.
