About Gypsy
Gypsy is a beautiful 2 year old Australian Cattle Dog that is very true to her genetics. She’s a busy girl that needs a job to do.
She is currently in kennels with the wonderful Helen from Building Better Dogs, and needs to find a foster or forever home.
Gypsy has a great level of obedience and will sit, drop, stay, recall and is a delight to walk on lead. No matter where you take her for a walk she will completely ignore what is going on around her and stays focused on her handler.
Once Gypsy has bonded with a person she is the most loyal dog in the world to them and will follow them where ever they go. She does prefer slow introductions to people.
We are looking for either a foster or adoption home for Gypsy that is familiar with her breed. Someone that realises that Gypsy is not a couch potato but a dog with a strong desire to work for her people. She would be a fun dog to do some form of dog sports with. We’re sure she would excel at Fly ball, agility, sheep herding, nose works or any other type of dog sports.
Gypsy enjoys play dates with select other dogs but is definitely not a dog park kind of girl.
Gypsy is not tested with cats or pocket pets and is not suited to living with children.
Please fee free to come and meet Gypsy and see if she is a good match for your lifestyle.
Adoption details
We list animals for adoption on Pet Rescue as well as on our own Animals-in-Need-Brisbane website. We talk with people who contact about an animal to see what their needs and situation are. Our emphasis is on getting the right animal for the people and the right people for the animal. If everyone's needs are met things usually work out well.
If the situation sounds good we arrange a meeting. If all goes well we let people try the animal out for a couple of weeks to ensure that everyone is happy.
We keep records of all adopters, follow up to ensure all is well and undertake to take back any animal if circumstances change.
