About Aivah
Aivah is a sweet, obedient, 5 year-old Rottweiler who would make the perfect addition to a family environment.
Aivah is very friendly and is quick to rollover to welcome belly rubs from her new friends. She knows lots of commands such as ‘Sit’, ‘Wait’, ‘Come’, ‘Shake’, ‘Rollover’ and even ‘Bang Bang’ (play dead). She is house trained and shows great house manners, making for a lovely indoor/outdoor companion. She is on the smaller side for her breed, weighing only 37kg.
Aivah loves going for short strolls where she can take in all of the smells and is a dream to walk on her halti lead. She has been raised with small dogs and can therefore be dog selective with big dogs. We think Aivah would thrive in an only-dog home or she could also suit a family with a calm small dog. Aivah has also been raised with small children and knows to be gentle in their company.
Aivah has a condition called Immune-Mediated Polyarthritis which can effect her mobility (arthritis). Aivah has been taking daily steroid tablets which has helped manage her condition however she is in the process of being weaned off the tablets and transitioning onto a specialised anti-inflammatory diet with daily supplements (Antinol) as a long term treatment plan.
To help maintain Aivah’s condition, a lowset home is preferred and a sensible approach to daily exercise which would include low impact walks as opposed to fetching a ball/jogging etc. Aivah would also be an excellent candidate for both hydrotherapy and Bowen therapy to assist in her mobility however overall just requires a calm and stable environment to reduce flare ups.
Aivah thrives on human companionship and is therefore seeking a home that will include her in their slow-lane daily routine and reciprocate her loyal, loving nature. If you can provide a calm environment and are currently seeking an affectionate, low maintenance best friend then Aivah could be the missing piece to your puzzle.

Adoption details
We list animals for adoption on Pet Rescue as well as on our own Animals-in-Need-Brisbane website. We talk with people who contact about an animal to see what their needs and situation are. Our emphasis is on getting the right animal for the people and the right people for the animal. If everyone's needs are met things usually work out well.
If the situation sounds good we arrange a meeting. If all goes well we let people try the animal out for a couple of weeks to ensure that everyone is happy.
We keep records of all adopters, follow up to ensure all is well and undertake to take back any animal if circumstances change.
