About May Applegate
TO APPLY FOR ADOPTION PLEASE SEND IN APPLICATION FORM AVAILABLE BELOW:

Lovely May is new into our care and we are still getting to know her. Without much consistency in her life, she still has a lot to learn. As a young puppy, she is still discovering the world around her and learning where her boundaries lie. However, she really does want to please and do the right thing.
May is an active and clever girl who loves her food. She is capable of problem solving, especially where food is involved. May is all legs so can reach kitchen counters and benches. This also means she is very capable of training and learning new things. She is a very quick learner especially when encouraged with treat rewards….although she can have selective hearing occasionally.
May enjoys having a dog around and loves to play and cuddle with them. In May’s previous foster home, she got along well with cats and was living with two in her foster home. May likes to sit with them and give them kisses but she can get a bit excited if they run around. A good hiss is enough to get her to back off though. May is working on some of her basic training including house training. In her current foster home, there are no cats.
May walks well on the lead and enjoys a walk, although she sometimes finds the outside world a bit scary. She can become excited and bark at other dogs while out walking. Meeting new people is also a bit of a worry for her but with some soft words and kindness she will be your friend for life. She is a confident girl at home so she will grow out of this fear with some consistency and support.
May is a gorgeous soul, who loves a cuddle on the couch and wants to please her family. She would suit a home where her family are willing to put in the effort into continuing her training. A home with another dog friend and opportunity to burn her energy would be ideal. If your family sounds like the perfect fit for May, please get in touch.

All our dogs are desexed, C5 vaccinated with intranasal, microchipped, wormed, and flea treated. All necessary vetwork such as dentals, surgery, eye treatment are also carried out. We are no longer heartworm testing as we have not had one positive test since we began in 2006. If a dog comes to us on heartworm treatment this is continued.

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer free assistance for six weeks for any issues, a lifetime takeback policy with full refund of the adoption fee, and will always be available to offer advice.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.

We look forward to receiving your application.
