About Mia
Say hello to Mia, a 6-year-old mixed breed with quite the backstory story and an affectionate nature. Despite having escaped a house fire with her puppies—some of whom tragically didn’t survive—Mia has emerged as a sweet and loving companion.
She is deeply invested in the well-being of her family, and once she bonds with you, she’ll be your devoted and friend. Mia is a mid-energy girl who loves to cozy up on the couch with her favorite plushie toy and enjoys peaceful strolls in nature.
Mia has faced some challenging times, which has made her a bit anxious. However, with confident guidance and a consistent routine, she truly thrives. To help Mia start her new life on the right foot, Maggie’s will provide training support to her new adopters.
My Ideal Home: Mia would thrive in a home with adults or older teenagers who are around frequently. She is best suited to confident dog guardians who can provide steady leadership, as Mia is highly intuitive and picks up on the energy of her handler. While Mia can be reactive on leash with other dogs, she is highly food motivated, which makes redirecting her attention relatively easy. She enjoys playing with dogs of similar size and will benefit from some supportive training, which we are happy to assist with. If you’re looking for a loyal and affectionate companion, Mia will be a wonderful addition to a devoted doggy family.
My Energy Level: : Mia is a medium energy dog. As a slightly older lady, she appreciates relaxing on the couch with her favorite toy, but she still enjoys daily walks and the benefits of outdoor adventures in nature. She also enjoys some indoor mental stimulation on rainy days.
My Suitability to Children: Mia is gentle with children and doesn’t jump on them. However, she takes her role as a family guardian very seriously. As a result, a home with a lot of comings and goings might be a bit much for her.
My Suitability to Cats and Dogs: Mia has lived with cats before and can get along with them, though she might have a tendency to chase. She would do well with another medium to large-sized, well-balanced dog.
Medical notes
Mia does have some arthritic change which is currently well managed.

Adoption details
We ask all people looking to adopt to fill in our adoption enquiry form.
For Cats: https://form.jotform.co/92940837256870
For Dogs: https://form.jotform.co/80677377750872
Please use these links rather than the 'Enquire' button on the pet's PetRescue profile to streamline your enquiry.
Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
Please consider, that a Maggie's Pet is a pet for Life, before adopting.
