About Steve - Located in Reservoir
Hey there, fabulous humans and furry friends! I'm Steve, your next potential BFF (Best Feline Friend). Life's a whirlwind of excitement for me—I'm always on the move, chasing shadows, and living my best cat life.
You see, I'm not your average feline; I've got a knack for making friends with everyone, be it fellow cats or the fantastic human folk. I'm like the neighborhood socialite, always up for a good chat or a cozy nap with my favorite pals.
Now, when I'm not busy perfecting my ninja moves while chasing mysterious things, you'll find me tailing my humans like a fluffy little sidekick. I've got this chatty side too; I love sharing my thoughts and opinions with anyone who's willing to lend an ear. Meowvellous conversations guaranteed!
Oh, did I mention my knack for finding the purrfect nap spot? Yep, I'm a pro at that. Whether it's next to you or right on top of you, I've got the art of snuggling down to a science. It's my way of spreading love and warmth, you know?
Now, let's talk about my hydration game. I'm a bit of a water enthusiast, keeping things flowing for my kidney condition (see medical notes). So, my humans need to be on their toes, making sure my water bowl is always topped up. But hey, it's a small price to pay for the joy and entertainment I bring into your life!
So, what do you say? Ready to invite this purrsonality-packed ball of fur into your world? Let the adventures of Steve and pals begin! 🐾

Medical notes
He currently has low level renal disease which cause him to drink a little more water and urinate more regularly. These symptoms may reduce as his kidneys grow and develop further. Unfortunately his renal disease will likely progress in his adult years.
Steve's kidneys show damage from toxins he has come into contact with, previous to being born or in the first few weeks of life.
WORLDWIDE CAT VACCINE SHORTAGE
There is currently a worldwide shortage of cat vaccines and supplies are unlikely to be replenished until early 2024. This is due to complicated supply problems post-COVID. Our vets have limited, and in some cases no supplies available, but are prioritising kittens and previously unvaccinated Cats wherever possible.
Kittens are at the highest risk as their level of protection is very low after the initial protection provided by the mother’s antibodies. While protection will wane a little over time, a delay up to three months is unlikely to result in a significant reduction in levels of protection. It is anticipated that clinics should have regular supplies early in the new year to bring your cat back up to date.
First Vaccination completed
We will try to provide at least 1 vaccination, depending on our supplies of vaccines available, however boosters may become overdue. In this case it is your responsibility to contact your vet as soon as supplies become available. We will not be re-imbursing any of this costs.
We require all cats and kittens to be indoors only and not allowed outside. This is especially important now as there is a risk of coming into contact with unknown cats who may not be vaccinated.
No Vaccination completed
Where we are unable to provide any vaccination during their time in care with us, please contact us on 0459779888 or via email to samantha@neko.org.au, and we will arrange for one vaccination to be done at one of our partnering clinics as soon as supplies are available. Boosters after this will be your responsibility.
Please note that should you choose to utilise your own clinic, we will not be re-imbursing any costs. This is your responsibility.
