About Darla STA011176
Darla is a beautiful girl who came to us a very scared and timid stray. She has since been placed in a quiet and calm foster home to get to know her and earn her trust. Although she may still be a bit shy upon initial introduction, she is an absolute sweetheart with so much love to give.
Given time and patience, Darla will slowly start to come out of her shell and you will be able to experience all the joy she has to offer. A loving home environment full of gentle guidance is just what this precious girl needs in order to truly flourish.
From her foster home -
Darla is the most beautiful cat we’ve had the pleasure to foster. She is curious, sweet, affectionate, and well behaved. When we first got her, she was extremely timid, scared, and a little hissy (never scratched or bite), but already had a very curious personality. Over the last 6 months, through lots of tube treats and training, she finally decided we weren’t so scary anymore and loves being around us during her active hours, absolutely loves pats, and enjoys making biscuits on our bed. She will follow you around and have squeaky little meows for pats but if not reciprocated she can be left alone and entertains herself.
Anyone who has the pleasure to adopt Darla will fall in love with her, and she will to you if you give her some time, patience, and treats!
Darla does not enjoy the company of children, canines or fellow felines she will need a home where she is your one and only.
If you would like more information about Darla or wish to meet her please contact our Foster Care Co-Ordinator’s -Email foster@catprotection.com.au or Phone 0400 444 734.
Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
We will answer any questions you have regarding cat care and help you to obtain any support you may need.
