About Buddy
Introducing Buddy!
Buddy is an American Staffy x born 28th June 2017.
Buddy was brought in to us as a stray & his owners decided to surrender him for rehoming. Instead of fixing their fencing they decided it was easier to keep Buddy on a chain in the backyard. When he came into us his collar was so tight we couldn't even fit one finger underneath it. He has been with us for 6 weeks & his neck is still stained from the collar & the indent from it is still visible. Buddy will need 6ft fencing as he was able to jump the 4ft section of their fence.
Buddy tested very well with other dogs & was non-reactive when a smaller dog tried to eat him. Given his size & breed he does love to wrestle, but once he's had a wrestle he settles down fairly quickly. He would be suitable to live with other dogs, or be a spoilt "only child". If you have a friendly dog at home we will need to do a meet & greet with them to ensure they get along before going home.
Buddy was reactive towards cats & pocket pets, so he will need to be in a home without cats or chickens & rabbits.
Buddy is very food motivated & knows how to sit. He is very excitable & eager to please, but he will need patience while he learns any new skills you'd like him to know.
He still has so much to learn about the world away from the chain and would love to be in a home where he is included as a member of the family. Buddy will thrive in an environment that guides him with positive direction and lots of love and attention.
Buddy's adoption fee is $450 and includes his desexing and lifetime registration.
Buddy is also regularly treated for flea and worms and is up to date with his vaccinations.

Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
