About Franklin
Franklin’s requirement in his new home
- He would love someone to continue his training and maybe even give a dog sport a go when he is older!
- Access to a variety of toys, and more toys.
- A patient owner who will continue toilet training franklin.
- An inside/outside lifestyle and to sleep inside of a night.
- Franklin’s new home must have a female desexed playful dog (not senior or a puppy)
- A secure yard.
- An active lifestyle
Franklin being a Catahoula x breed, he is going to be energetic and smart. They are a working breed dog, and will be the happiest when their needs are meet.
Franklin is super cheeky and his tail never ever stops wagging. He is such a happy boy and loves his humans everyone he meets! He has a very special way of looking at you with his big eyes that melts your heart instantly. He absolutely loves his toys, they are his number one priority and you will often find them all collected in a pile together, just so he knows where they all are.
While in foster care, we have been working on some basic training and Franklin has proved to be very smart and driven. He can sit, lie down and shake hands (his favourite) on command. Currently, he walks very nicely on leash and is more than happy to prance alongside you, butt wiggle and all. His potty training has been going very well, but this is something his new family will have to commit to continuing. He is crate trained and will happily sleep through the night.
He is pretty confident, but sometimes needs a little reassurance when meeting new people. Although he loves his people, his toys are his number one priority and you will often find them all collected in a pile together just so he knows where they all are. Currently he is living with other dogs and thinks they are pretty great. He loves to wrestle and do zoomies and he also takes some guidance from them.
He is also currently living with cats, and can be gentle but they can be very exciting for him sometimes. We highly recommend slow introductions with cats and close supervision.
Franklin's carer says "He is just the most gorgeous pup I’ve ever met. His nature is incredible and he is growing into a very handsome little man. He comes to work with me twice a week and prances around like he owns the place. "
The breed is to the best of our knowledge from the information we've been given.

Please note- we do not work on a first in best dressed basis, we assess all applications to choose the home that we believe will best match the animal.
If you believe one of our animals would be a good match for your home please send us a detailed email us with some information about the people and any other animals in your home as well as the type of lifestyle you can offer a new rescue pet. We are volunteerswho run the rescue around families, paid employment and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require any other dogs in your home meeting our foster animal before they head home with you. This enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care, this is a condition of our Adoptions.
