About Delilah
Delilah is a beautiful 3 1/2 year old Great Dane who is looking for her forever home.
At home she is sweet and gentle, quirky and cute. She is super playful, loves to cuddle up and get snuggly with her family. She loves playing fetch with a tennis ball and loves her walks. She is super gentle with her cuddly toy (a teddy) and is generally really good with other dogs and (mostly!) comes when called.
She needs one big walk a day as well as a one or two shorter ones (or a big garden and ball throwing in lieu of shorter walks).
She lived in an apartment in Sydney with her first family for 14 months, the couple broke up and Delilah was re-home. She moved to an older couple in Kangaroo Valley, but unfortunately within a couple of months the owner was taken ill. Delilah went into kennels for 3 months where she lost 20kg. Following that she had 6 months with a foster family where she regained her weight and bonded really well.
This big beautiful, 3 1/2-year-old Dane, Delilah, is looking for her forever home.
She has been in foster care for almost a year, as her humans underwent a health crisis, which sadly ended in loss. This now means Delilah needs a new forever home. She would love a home, without young children, where she gets a good long walk each day and can chase her ball. She has only ever been an 'only child', so being the only pet may suit her best. She loves the beach and the park. She is very fun and playful, and gentle in so many ways, but also a good guard dog. She’s very protective.
Delilah eats around 9 cups of kibble a day with some tuna or eggs or healthy leftovers. Due to size and strength, needs someone who can handle her, although she is generally very good on the lead and with other dogs.
Her big bark can be a bit disturbing when you first meet her, or when strangers first come to the house, but she settles quickly. She can sometimes be startled and bark at small children , other times she has no reaction.
Overall she truly is an adorable dog and companion. She needs a loving family who can handle her well, give her huge amounts of love, which will be returned tenfold.

Please be aware that Paws and Recover is run by volunteers who also work. We endeavour to answer enquires as quickly as possible. Some animals will inevitably be very popular and will generate many enquires. Where there is a high volume of enquires received, it will be our priority to contact those that best fit the requirements of the animal. This may mean that it is not possible for all enquires to be answered. Please keep an eye on the website for all updates.
