About Flossy
Yes she is
Cute.
Little.
Great for sitting on laps.
The perfect size for indoors.
and has the most beautiful eyes that just draw you in!
BUT....
She needs
Enrichment- Games, Toys and so much more fun enrichment ideas.
Training- Only being 2 years old she is still super keen to learn and this will also keep her mind busy.
Exercise- She is a very active girl and wants to go on at least 1 walk a day.
Boundaries...
If you also fit all of what she needs then she would also love to be able to hang out on the couch with you as well as sleep on your bed! As long as all her needs are met...
Currently while hanging out at BARC Flossy is in a play group with 2 other dogs and she is getting on awesome with them... However she can be fussy on which dogs she wants in her friend group which seem to be the more submissive type who wont be all up in her face. For this reason we do always recommend bringing your dog/dogs in to meet her during the meet and greet to make sure everyone is happy and getting along.
If you have a Dog saavy cat at home then there is a chance that Flossy with living happily with it! However she does like to chase if they run.... (Typical Jack Russell) This would need to be a slow intro to the cat as her and the cat have never met. It could take up to a few months before being able to leave them alone together!.
Kids who are over the age of 6 years would be ideal Flossy as she just adores the attention. She may be a little heavy for the kids to pick up but it is always best for her to be kept with all four paws on the floor.
Still needing to work on her house training which would be something she may pick up quite fast.. We are always happy to give you the tips you need.
To book a meet and greet with Flossy please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au . Due to the high volume of emails received, enquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
