About Rosie - 1 Year Old Shepherd X
Rosie is a sweet-natured, affectionate and loyal girl who can’t wait to meet her new family.
She loves to cuddle up close and give you all of her love. If you are looking for a dog love-match - she is all for you. She has perky ears, beautiful coat colouring and a happy face.
Rosie is a medium sized girl at 23kg who has been crate trained and sleeps soundlessly overnight. She is fully toilet trained and will use the dog door to come and go in as she pleases. A quick learner and eager to please, she has shown good progress in her training and will benefit from a family willing to continue her training.
Rosie loves her walk time and would love to go on 2 walks per day (she is happy with 30 minutes), or one longer walk. She can get over excited when passing other other dogs, so needs further training to help with pulling on the leash, although she does sit at the road and responds well to wait and other commands. Rosie has also shown that with further consistent training, she will have excellent recall.
She also loves a game of backyard fetch and playtime and at end of the day, she is happy to join to inside for some relaxing time, retreating to her bed close by to you. She is okay left on her own for part time workers, as long as she has her toys and given enough attention before and after the work day.
Rosie travels very well in the car and loves to go on adventures! She is however not suited to the cafe or dog park life, but she does enjoy a relaxed walk and bush walks. She would enjoy weekend getaways and even camping with her people.
Rosie will be best in an only dog home, as she can be anxious and unsure of others dogs when they are too close, so is not suited to dog parks or off leash situations.
Because of her boisterous play style, Rosie is best suited to a home with teenagers and adults. She can be unsure meeting new people, and so will need slow introductions to start while she gets to know them and understands she is safe.
Rosie has been an absolute delight in foster care, and she will make a wonderful addition to the right family, showering you with her unwavering love and affection.
A recap on Rosie's ideal home:
- Active family who like to walk and take her on adventures
- Only pet in the home
-Teenage and adult household
-Understanding that Rosie is still young and learning, and commited to teaching her
-Minimum 5ft secure fencing.
Rosie's adoption fee is $500. She has been desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, and is microchipped. Rosie is in foster care in Newcastle area, NSW.
