About Mojito
Mojito, our pint-sized ball of fun is ready to find her forever home. This pup is the most affectionate and playful girl, who loves absolutely everyone she meets!
While in care, mojito has been learning about all the creature comforts foster care has to offer. She loves nothing more than a belly scratch and cuddle on the couch. While she is just old enough to start getting out and about safely, she has been learning lots of things during her time in care. She is a very confident pup in her known surroundings and we are sure she will tackle the big wide world with ease. She will need owners who understand she is needs gentle and continual exposure to new places and environments to ensure she continues to grow into a well natured and confident dog.
Mojito has been living with a large breed dog in foster care and has thoroughly enjoyed building this relationship. She spends her days playing and cuddling with the resident dog. She is of course still a puppy and needs to be told when enough is enough, but is very responsive to this and will happily settle in her crate for some time out. Due to her age, she hasn’t had many chances to socialise outside of the house so will need a new owner committed to ensuring her socialisation is continued. It is important that she is given positive socialisation experiences with other dogs, ideally in the form of play dates with other friendly and appropriate dogs rather than at dog off lead areas where the other dogs are unknowns. Mojito is expected to be a small sized dog who will be relatively active as an adult so she will require daily exercise and some mental stimulation to keep her happy and healthy throughout her life.
Mojito has started basic training and is picking new things up quickly- she LOVES to engage with her people and learn new things. She sleeps in a crate overnight and is happy to be crated for a couple of hours if you head out and about (after a minutes objection!). Her toilet training is coming along well, but her foster carers still need to be diligent to ensure they are watching for her cues and taking her out frequently. Mojito is an active pup and is going through a play biting phase. She is easily redirected, but her new owners will need to stay on top of this puppy behaviour and understand proper techniques to alleviate this behaviour. This is important for any families with children applying as she will mouth their hands. Mojito will be fine as an only dog or with other dogs in the household. Regardless of the addition of other dogs in the household, she will need someone home more often than not as she is a young puppy who should not be left alone for hours on end. If there are other dogs in the household, they should be over 2 and not be offended by her puppy attempts to play. She should be fine to integrate with other species of animals due to her age and intelligent nature.
We are looking for a dog experienced home for Mojito where she will be a part of the family and be provided with lots of gentle exposure to new places, people and dogs. Mojito should be allowed inside to be with the family and will need a bed to sleep on inside at night. She would absolutely love a home where she is allowed on the couch for some snuggles too!
Mojito is just the most loving pup and is going to make the perfect addition to the perfect home. Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
