About Blanca
Blanca is an absolutely wonderful little dog who is going to be a fantastic companion for her new owners. This little girl is a sweetheart. She loves a cuddle and will give you lots of kisses. Blanca would sit in your lap all day every day if you let her. Anyone who is willing to give her a pat is a friend in her eyes, and she easily charms everyone with her cuteness. Blanca is a small sized dog who has recently weighed in at 8.4kg and could benefit from trimming up a little bit. She has a confident and happy personality that makes her the type of dog who you can take anywhere with you.
Since coming into care, Blanca has discovered the joys of walkies! She now knows the word and will sit and wait in anticipation of her harness and lead to go on. Blanca loves to get out and about and walks well without pulling. She loves to sniff all the neighbourhood smells and explore the world. Her foster carers have taken her for walks by busy roads where traffic doesn’t seem to bother her, and she has also enjoyed some bushwalks. Blanca waits patiently at her carer’s feet if they stop to chat to friends or have a pit stop at the local café. Her new owner will need to be committed to taking her out for daily walks each day and she would love to join you on your outings whenever you wish to take her as well.
Blanca has come from a home with multiple dogs so is used to others being around. She has no issue walking past other dogs in the street and saying quick hellos to other friendly and polite dogs. Blanca is not suitable for dog park environments though as she doesn’t appreciate it if strange dogs rush up and get in her space – she is not aggressive with them but it’s not the environment for her. She did spend some time in foster care with another small (5kg) male dog with a submissive nature and they were great with each other. We feel a dog like this would be a suitable match for her as long as they were accepting that she will probably be the boss in the home. Blanca is absolutely fine to live as an only dog and would probably even prefer it as she loves to be the centre of attention and has no issue being left home alone.
Blanca has basic training and good manners around the home. She is fully toilet trained and knows how to use a doggy door to take herself outside when needed. Blanca knows how to sit on command and follows general phrases like outside, this way and time for bed. She is crate trained and will choose to go and chill out in her crate when not much is going on and sleeps there overnight without a peep. Blanca has a gorgeous non-shedding coat that will require regular grooming. She tolerates being brushed and having her nails clipped as long as her handler takes charge and doesn’t let her think she has the upper hand. Blanca travels well in the car and will settle quietly on the back seat for the trip.
We are looking for a dog experienced home for Blanca where she will be a loved member of the family and included in the daily activities. She would be great as an only dog with owners who are home more often than not at least during the settling period (being an only dog is still a new thing to her). She can also live with a small easy going male companion as previously mentioned. Blanca should be allowed inside the home to be with the family and will need a warm comfy bed inside to sleep on at night. She has previously lived with cats who she is fine with and shows no interest in chasing birds so is likely to be ok with pocket pets. Blanca is fine with the visiting toddler (2.5yo) in her foster home as well so would suit a range of home environments and households. As long as she gets lots of love and taken for her walkies, she will be a happy girl.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
