Salami is ready to bring laughter, happiness, and love into your home. If you're an experienced dog owner or have breed-specific knowledge, and you're looking for a devoted furry friend, Salami is your perfect match.
About Me: Salami is a delightful pup with a heart full of love to give. She might be a little reserved when she first meets new people, but give her a moment, and you'll witness her warm up to you faster than a sunny day!
Salami didn't have the best start in life and missed out on social training, but she's now eager to learn and grow with a loving family.
Salami's favourite things include food, toys, and getting lots of attention! She likes to be picked up, and absolutely adores being touched, patted, cuddled, and scratched.
Ideal Home: Salami would thrive in a calm & quiet home or one that's active and outdoorsy. She's confident, independent, and outgoing, making her a great fit for a variety of lifestyles.
Salami would love a medium to large yard with high, secure fencing to explore and play. She enjoys the freedom of both indoors and outdoors, giving her space to stretch her legs and enjoy the sunshine.
Family: Salami is open to meeting kids aged 5 years and up. While she's a typical puppy with all the puppy energy, she's also incredibly adaptable and ready to be your child's loyal playmate.
Furry Friends: Salami is a sociable sweetheart, displaying friendly and playful behaviour when she meets other dogs. If you're looking for a companion for your four-legged friend, Salami may be the perfect match!
While Salami is a wonderful companion to those of the canine variety, it's important to note that she has a high prey drive and may not be suitable for homes with cats or pocket pets.
Work Hard: Salami would benefit from post-adoption training such as one-on-one or at-home training to help her become the best version of herself. She may bark inside her kennel at other dogs, but with some guidance, she'll grow into a well-mannered, best girl.
She knows how to sit and is willing to learn more commands with a bit of convincing (treats). Some leash training might be needed to refine her walking manners, but she's a quick learner, eager to please, and is motivated by treats!
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long & is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Play Hard: Salami is a medium-energy pup, so she'd benefit from daily walks and playtime.
Post-Adoption Life: With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as seamless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories - most are left in the shelter by their owners. The information we have is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks may surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
Adoption details
Please remember that the pets we have available sometimes come to us with no history, so we do our very best to get to know them while they are here and to match them to your home. Sometimes animals behave differently outside of the shelter environment, so please do keep in touch after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
