About Meeko
Meet Meeko, a 6-month-old Cavoodle who is on the hunt for a loving and understanding foster-to-adopt home.
Meeko arrived at SCAR very fearful and worried as he had never been properly socialized to the wide world around him. Thanks to a blend of behavioral and medical support, he has made great progress and is now eager to find a family who can continue his journey to desensitizing him to sounds, people, and other dogs. \
Meeko tends to get a bit anxious in bustling environments, which is why we recommend a home that isn't located in the city or inner suburbs. In fact, it would be ideal if the home lacks windows that face the street or provides a way to shield him from outside distractions. He will need on-going training in his home and someone happy to work with our trainer to get him on the right paw for success.
Meeko is a delightful, active and fun-loving adolescent; he's highly food motivated, loves learning new tricks, and forms strong bonds with his humans in no time.
If you're a patient, dog-savvy family willing to give Meeko the time, love, and training he needs, you'll find in him a loyal and joyful companion waiting to bring warmth to your home.
LOCATION SHELTER - SPECIAL NEEDS PET *Adoption Process* If you are interested in this pet and ready to adopt now, please send in an application to the SCAR Adoption Team. On the Pet Rescue profile, push the "Enquire About This Pet" button. Follow the prompts to "send enquiry now" and in the message section please tell us all about you and your home. As this pet has special needs, be sure you tell us why you are a great match for this particular pet. The information you provide helps us to start a conversation about this pet, to find them a great home! We aim to make sure that you fully understand your new pet's needs prior to committing to taking them home, so: - For pets with specific medical needs, you will have the opportunity to discuss their requirements with a member of our vet team. - For pets with specific behaviour needs, you will have the opportunity to chat with a member of our behaviour team and their foster carer. We also provide ongoing post-adoption support to help you and your new pet develop a great relationship! Please note the following: We do not take applications for animals over the phone, as we are a small team and are trying our best to be fair to all applicants while creating the best outcomes for our animals. We aim to reply to all applications within 5 business days, and will confirm with all applicants once we have an adoption meet booked for the animal. All of our meet and greets occur at the adoption center in Craigieburn, and all going well you will take home your pet on the day of the meet. The majority of our animals are in a foster home, not at the shelter, so you need to apply via the website to meet them. Thank you! www.secondchanceanimalrescue.com.au ... because they all deserve one!
