About Miss Maxi
Maxi is a 5yo red heeler born Australia Day 2018. She is a “Velcro dog” and will want to be your true home companion. She loves daily walks, trips to the park and the dog beach/river. She walks well on a loose lead and enjoys trotting around the park with her ball or stick. Aside from her daily exercise, she loves nothing more than lounging at home by herself or with you.
She’s an intelligent dog and has previously done multiple rounds of puppy/dog training as well as three rounds of sniffer dog training (for Vegemite). She will follow all basic commands and is highly food motivated.
She is used to her owners working full time, and fills her day sleeping around the house. In more recent post covid times, where working from home is now common, she spends her days sleeping at your feet under the desk.
Her loving owners have recently had babies, and Maxi has been unsettled with their presence in the house since. She needs a home where she will be the only fur baby.
Maxi is reactive in situations where she feels threatened such as visits from tradesman, deliveries, unpredictable or provoking behaviour of children, etc.
She will require a home without children or other dogs. She has lived with a 15yo cat but would thrive best being the only pet. She will need managed interactions with new people to the home. Once visitors have had a positive interaction she will welcome them into her tribe and will treat known friends like her own family.
She is a truly beautiful girl and will make a spectacular dog for her special person. Miss Maxi's adoption is an owner assisted adoption, which means they would like her to go to the very best home possible and are also willing to contribute to training costs if Miss Maxi requires it in her new home.
A quiet and loving home, will do her wonders and make her and her new parents very happy indeed.
Adoption details
We are a foster-based rescue organisation. Once our rescues receive veterinary care and are given the all clear, they are placed in family foster homes so we understand their behaviour and what home will suit them best.
Adoptees can fill out our online adoption application, they then will be contacted if the animal is suitable for their home and family, a meet and greet of the rescue animal will be arranged and a home inspection. Then, appropriate paperwork is filled out and we bring the rescue pet to the adoptee.
