About Jordy
Wise beyond his years, five year old Jordy rocks the salt and pepper look of a distinguished gentleman, and could give George Clooney a run for his money with that heart melting cheeky grin.
When he first arrived in our program mere weeks ago, the world was big and scary. Slippery floors, stairs, dogs that barked at him! But with patience, love, and a kind word (maybe even a treat or two), Jordy has shown his foster carers what a brave and sweet soul he is. He’s even decided that being home alone isn’t so bad (as long as there are comfy beds to nest in, and he has had a bit of separation training to work up to longer absences).
Preferring to save his extroverted side for his human friends, Jordy has never met a set of legs he didn’t want to lean on. A sweet and smoochy boy, he will charm any person that stops to say hello to him. He is polite, but often shy with other dogs, and on leash sometimes prefers to quickly skirt around an oncoming dog rather than stop and greet. He can still be a bit intimidated by dogs with too much energy, but will simply go out of his way to avoid them rather than make a scene, thank you very much!
Jordy would like to report he enjoyed visiting with his 88 year old foster grandpa, and was a very gentle and respectful boy. He would love to accompany you on any trips to see elderly family members, especially if they have a nice quiet spot for him to nap - and maybe a biscuit or two to share for afternoon tea?
With his animated ears, sweet sugar face, and gentle temperament, Jordy will make a wonderful addition to any home.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, some can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour.
As a result we look to rehome dogs into households where they are not left on their own for more than 4 hours per day on a regular basis, without either people or another dog for company. We are happy discuss strategies such as a dog walker or doggy day care. Going to work with you is also a great option

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
After the trial period is deemed successful, the adoption process is finalised.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
The rescue group has removed this pet and it is no longer available for adoption.
