Faye is a shy but affectionate girl. She came into our care with her siblings and she's the last to be adopted, she's ready to join your family, especially if you already have a cat. Faye is still a kid, just 18 months old and she's made significant progress in becoming a family pet. She's shown the ability to learn and evolve, with love and treats she's learned to accept cuddles and trust people.
She's still shy and timid but really thrives when she has a sidekick; she's used to being around other cats and really would settle into a new home better if she has a soulmate to show her how things work. She would be best suited to a home with experienced cat owners, as she may not be suitable for first time pet owners.
Pillow foot is an inflammatory condition that affects the foot pads of cats. The exact cause is unknown, but it is thought to be related to abnormal activation of the immune system. Pillow foot has also been associated with FIV infection; however Faye has tested negative to FIV on several occasions. Treatment of pillow foot is based on medications that modulate the immune system. Faye is currently receiving two medications- doxycycline and prednisolone. Both of these are tablets that need to be given orally or in food each day. Pillow foot takes a long time to improve, and treatment is usually required for months. Eventually, once the symptoms resolve, treatment can be tapered and/or stopped, but may never fully heal.
Adorable Faye, like so many sheltered animals, just needs the opportunity to join a family, including children and existing pets, to blossom. Any adoption enquiries will need to be made either by phone or email, our staff are happy to provide any and all information pertaining to Faye! You are also more than welcome to come to the shelter to discuss any adoption enquiries.
