Oscar is a quiet and affectionate young man searching for a forever home with plenty of love to give.
Oscars most favourite things are his humans. He would love to spend as much time in their company as he can.
He travels well in the car but can be quite eager to get in the front passenger seat if not occupied, so will need to be restrained in the back.
He also walks well on the lead, rarely pulling or making a fuss over other dogs. Oscar can be a bit nervous about cars going past and other situations and noises while out and about, so will need a supportive and patient family that can offer him some encouragement. With a bit more exposure he should outgrow some of these anxieties.
Oscar currently sleeps outside, sometimes with a bit of complaining but quickly settles. He has spent some nights inside where he has been happy to sleep on his bed in the lounge room.
Has learnt to use dog door to let himself out for the toilet, but will need to be taken out to remind him to go to the toilet before sleeping inside.
Oscar isn’t an overly active dog, spending most of his time following his humans around. But he does love to play with his toys and do zoomies outside, specially when he has a crowd to entertain.
Typically he spends the day outside while his humans are at work, lazing around, sniffing the smells in the air and playing with his toys. When someone is home he is able to access inside through the dog door and is very well behaved.
Oscar has always been friendly with new people, sometimes being a bit nervous but coming to love the extra humans. He gets a bit nervous with sudden movements and loud noises, so as previously mentioned will need support and encouragement.
He has been very gentle with children and would benefit if the children could understand his anxieties to some extent so they know how to behave around him.
Oscar is not suited to be in a home with cats, but has been friendly with other dogs so far.
Oscar would thrive best in a quiet home with a family that is happy to take him on adventures outside of the house. He needs a forever family that is understanding, willing to support and reassure him in situations where he can be a bit anxious and be happy to spend time giving him exposure to his new world.
