Meet Casemiro,
Casemiro was brought to the shelter as a very fearful stray, and finds himself looking for a new, and very understanding forever home. He was brought to us already desexed, so we know that he has been in contact with humans before, we suspect this has been from more of a 'street cat' perspective, than in a domestic household.
Casemiro has had some socialisation with humans before, but we can't really vouch for how much. He sits at the door of his enclosure every morning and greets us with a big cheerful meow, a biiiig stretch, and chats while he impatiently waits for breakfast. He does however step back when we open his cage, and he doesn't appreciate attempts at touch, especially when he doesn't know you. He is more of a free spirit, preferring independence and the attention of other felines over the adoration of humans.
Casemiro is available for adoption but is looking for a very specific home, we don't want him to have to deal with any forced expectations, so we are being honest. Casemiro loves people for one thing and one thing only: food. In the mornings and the afternoons, he will approach for food with the most hypnotising meow. He will accept his food quite happily, and then retreat to the back of his cage for his 12-18 hour nap. He relies on humans to provide food, fresh water, entertainment (toys!!!), and comfort. He's a bit 'gaslight, gatekeep, girlboss' rather than 'I want to love you'. He may eventually become more friendly and sociable towards his adopters, but on his own terms, and this should not be expected of him.
He simply adores other cats, so would fit seamlessly onto a household with existing cats (should they be happy to have him) and would benefit from a household with access to an outdoor cat run, though this isn't a requirement for adoption. He is not tolerant of children, though teens could be considered in the right circumstances.
