About Eddie rsta011560
Eddie is a gentle giant who finds the world a very big and scary place. He needs patience and understanding to let him set his own pace in order to feel comfortable.
Eddie is a bit of a scaredy-cat when it comes to visitors and noise, so he will need an experienced cat owner who can provide him with a quiet and consistent home. Once he feels secure, Eddie loves his human and always wants to be by their side.
Due to his shy nature, Eddie is not the best fit for households with children or canines; he seems to prefer being the ladies man! If you have the time and commitment for a special cat like Eddie, he'll be sure to bring plenty of love into your life.
A little from his foster home -
Eddie is looking for a home body type who is happy to give him attention, in dog terms I would describe him as very similar to a Staffy, wanting love all the time, a constant companion.
He is still a bit flighty but it’s a massive improvement over a short period of time to the point where he will walk out of the bedroom independently into the loungeroom and climb onto my lap for pats.
He is a very vocal cat, meows very demandingly for his meals, and for attention. He is also quite smart, working out that when I pat a surface (the bed, the sofa) he may jump up onto that surface.
Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
We will answer any questions you have regarding cat care and help you to obtain any support you may need.
