About Lucky - 2 yo Mini Foxy (On Trial 10/11/23)
Are you Feeling Lucky?
Lucky the pocket rocket 22-month-old Mini Foxy might only weigh 4.5 kgs, but he has the heart of a Lion.
Lucky is a ball of love, playfulness and energy. He will seek out games, walks and companionship from dogs, cats, adults and he absolutely adores kids of all ages. He even enjoys walking past the local daycare for sniffs and pats. He loves his food and snacks but has quite good manners while you are eating.
Lucky has been very happily living in foster care with an older female dog, a kitten (they are best friends) and an active 5-year-old child. He is very excited about everything, and often stands on his hind legs and hops while he is waiting for something. Lucky needs work on recall, can get distracted easily and has tried to head off on solo adventures if given an opportunity. He is very social and will say hello to most social dogs.
Lucky is toilet trained and has not had any accidents during his stay in care. Lucky sleeps well in a bed near people and will let you know if he needs to go out during the night. He is still adjusting to using the doggy door, but should adapt with continued training.
Needs some work on slowing down and not barking when starting a walk. The excitement can make Lucky “hop” on hind legs for the first few minutes of walk, but he calms down into a good leash walker (occasionally getting distracted and barking excitedly at other dogs). Will require a regular routine with couple of walks per day (or one longish walk).
Lucky would be suited to most homes, but would probably flourish with active fur friends (female or very friendly male) and would love some children to fuss over him. Happy at home during part-time work hours, with a dog or active dog-savvy cat companion. Will bark if bored, under exercised or if neighbours’ dogs are barkers.
Overall Lucky is a very good boy who is super loveable, cuddly and still young enough to be trained to become the perfect companion for you/your family for many years to come.
