About Toby - Located in Preston
Hey there, fabulous humans! I'm Toby, and let's just take a moment to appreciate these gorgeous cheeks. Seriously, have you ever seen cheeks this squishable? Once you meet me, you won’t be able to resist giving them a little squeeze and then a big loving kiss.
I absolutely love sitting up high on a cat tree, basking in the sun simply waiting for you to give me more cuddles. I'm not your average kitty; I'm a big, handsome, totally chilled boofy boy, with lots of delightful loveable kittenish ways. I love chasing balls, leaping about trying to catch Da bird and other wand toys too. I’m heaps of fun and will keep you entertained for hours. And I must mention that I absolutely love chicken. So, you want a super smoochie couch buddy? Count me in! Work-from-home supurrvisor? Absolutely. I'll keep a close eye on your productivity—or, you know, take a catnap on your keyboard. Either way, it's a win-win.
Now, let's address the FIV+ elephant in the room. Yes, I'm FIV+, but let me tell you, that's just a minor detail in the grand adventure of my life. I'm a really easy going sort of guy, that's all about making friends, feline or otherwise. Introduce me to your cat crew, and we'll form a squad that rivals the Avengers. I'm here for a good time, and I've got plenty of love and time to share.
So, if you're looking for a new cheeky, fun loving chipmunk-faced best friend and companion, I'm your guy🐾. Please make a time to meet me. You won’t be disappointed as we become best mates forever.

Medical notes
FIV+ cats live a normal life for many years though we cannot predict the life span of
these cats. FIV positive cats sometimes have a scruffy coat and the condition can
lead to chronic recurrent infections in the mouth, eye and skin. FIV cannot infect
people, however it can infect other cats through bite wounds commonly from fights.
FIV positive cats can co-exist with other cats that don't have FIV without issues.
We encourage that the cat is either an indoor cat or a confined cat - eg access to a
cat run outdoors. We recommend regular vet visits (6 monthly) to monitor weight,
coat changes, mouth etc.

WORLDWIDE CAT VACCINE SHORTAGE
There is currently a worldwide shortage of cat vaccines and supplies are unlikely to be replenished until early 2024. This is due to complicated supply problems post-COVID. Our vets have limited, and in some cases no supplies available, but are prioritising kittens and previously unvaccinated Cats wherever possible.
Kittens are at the highest risk as their level of protection is very low after the initial protection provided by the mother’s antibodies. While protection will wane a little over time, a delay up to three months is unlikely to result in a significant reduction in levels of protection. It is anticipated that clinics should have regular supplies early in the new year to bring your cat back up to date.
First Vaccination completed
We will try to provide at least 1 vaccination, depending on our supplies of vaccines available, however boosters may become overdue. In this case it is your responsibility to contact your vet as soon as supplies become available. We will not be re-imbursing any of this costs.
We require all cats and kittens to be indoors only and not allowed outside. This is especially important now as there is a risk of coming into contact with unknown cats who may not be vaccinated.
No Vaccination completed
Where we are unable to provide any vaccination during their time in care with us, please contact us on 0459779888 or via email to samantha@neko.org.au, and we will arrange for one vaccination to be done at one of our partnering clinics as soon as supplies are available. Boosters after this will be your responsibility.
Please note that should you choose to utilise your own clinic, we will not be re-imbursing any costs. This is your responsibility.
