About Sphinx
Sphinx is a 3yo male, seal point ragdoll.
He has many of the desirable traits of a typical ragdoll - striking appearance, captivating blue eyes, soft rabbit-like fur, will flop in your arms when picked up, laid back, sweet, placid, tolerant, patient, puppy-like as will sometimes follow you around from room to room like a dog, can be chatty with his sweet little chirps, and mostly enjoys human and animal company. He is also very sassy and cheeky, and will keep you entertained with his funny antics. He can be affectionate on his terms but he's not a lap cat and will quickly jump out of your arms (after initially flopping) if he's not in the mood for being picked up.
He may take a few weeks to settle into his new home and during this time, he may hide in the tiniest of places, but once he warms up to you and the household, he is generally very confident and outgoing. He enjoys visitors and can be the social butterfly when he feels comfortable.
Sphinx is nocturnal - he plays the most at night time, often doing laps of his carer's hallway and finding anything he can get his paws into to play with! He sleeps off his active nights during the day.
He loves the company of gentle, placid cat-friendly dogs and possibly one other non-dominant cat. He can be independent and does like his own space at times. However, he doesn't like to be alone for too long - so a household with a gentle/ placid dog who can keep him company would be ideal and humans who willingly play with him but also give him space when he needs it. Despite no longer being a kitten, he is still very playful and has intermittent bursts of energy. Therefore, a household with teenagers or older kids with gentle hands would be ideal for Sphinx.
He loves cat towers and curling up in their little cubby holes. He will also lie on the end of your bed at night in between his galivanting.
Like most ragdolls, he does tend to occasionally shed and will require grooming at least once per week.
Sphinx really is an all-round beautiful balanced kitty! If you're after a cat who has some of the trademark ragdoll characteristics but can also be independent, not as clingy, needy or demanding as some ragdolls, and is full of personality - Sphinx is the cat for you!
Please note that like all rescue cats, he must be kept indoors
Sphinx can be a picky eater and has taken a liking to only the best - Fancy Feast wet food of the gravy kind, and Royal Canin furball kibble.

Welcome to Small Paws Animal Rescue QLD.
We aim to place each of our animals with the best family possible.
Our adoption process may seem a little complex, we ask a lot of questions. But there are reasons for this.
1. Our animals in care are like our children.
2. We want to match the best humans with the animals to ensure you are happy and our animals are happy.
3. We don't want animals to come back to us. We want their family to be forever.
So our adoption process begins with an application being completed.
Once we receive the application we will assess it on face value of the answers you have provided.
Once we can determine if you sound like a good fit, we will call you to chat a bit further.
This is when we will schedule a meet and greet with your potential new family member/s.
We may need you to have more than one meet, especially if you have other pet/s that need to be introduced or children and other human family members.
We will confer with our foster carer, and advise you as soon as possible if you were successful in your meet and greet.
Once we have confirmed your success, we will arrange for the paperwork to be completed including the adoption payment.
We allow our foster carers time to say goodbye to their foster babies, it can be hard for some to give them to their new homes and we recognise all the hard work and dedication they have put in to ensure that your new family member has been safe and is ready to go to their forever home.
We will keep in contact with you for 2 weeks during a "trial" adoption period. There are terms and conditions to be met and we will advise you of these.
Once the trial period has ended we will send you the paperwork for your new family member.
At any time after this - if you need assistance you can always contact us.
