Lovely Missy was owned by an elderly lady who has now sadly gone into hospital, so golden oldie Missy finds herself looking for a new home.
Missy is a gorgeous poodle. She is an affectionate girl and gets excited when she sees new people. She's happy to make new friends. She likes to sleep on the end of your bed at night. She's a senior dog and as such does have her preferences and quirks: she is not keen on being picked up and she gets nervous in the car, which is understandable at the moment after being moved from her long term home and being unsure of where she's going.
Missy is used to being the only dog in the home and although she's fostered with other dogs and is generally good with small pooches, she would prefer to be the only dog in your household, receiving all your love and attention. She will need a home where someone is home a lot, like a retiree or home worker. She's untested with cats but does seem to bark at birds. She is ok meeting children but hasn't lived with them so at her age it's probably better not to change that: older kids could be ok as long as they remember her age.
Missy is pretty much deaf but she does understand some hand signals. She's toilet trained once she is shown outside and gets into the routine, and is low exercise but could do with a regular gentle walk to increase her muscle tone in her back legs, which is currently pretty poor due to not enough use.
Missy is a sweet lady. If you can offer her a loving and comfortable last home, we'd love to hear from you.
MEDICAL NOTES
Adoption fee includes vet check, vaccination, microchip (including transfer of ownership fee), flea and worm treatment and sterilisation.
Missy has had a good teeth clean and scale..
Her back legs have some muscle wastage: she would benefit from gentle, short walks increasing grsd, to help her build the condition of her muscles again.
ADOPTION NOTES
Our adoption process for the successful applicant includes a meet and greet, (including your own dog if applicable), a home check (or photos of your yard and fencing to be supplied to us if not local), and a two week trial period to ensure your chosen dog is the right fit for your home.
All adoption fees must be deposited into our SAFE Bunbury bank account in full before adoption trial starts (we cannot accept cash). The Adoption Agreement will be emailed to the selected applicant in advance of meeting your chosen dog.
After the adoption trial period has been completed we arrange transfer of ownership of the dog's microchip to the new owner, and email out the vet records.
